<p>Prior to the celebrations, the Uttarakhand government revealed on Friday the Diwali bonus for state workers. <p>The CM’s office’s official channel shared a message saying, “On Diwali, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami gave bonuses to state employees.” Ad hoc incentives are to be given to all non-gazetted personnel of Group C, D, and B, as instructed by the Chief Minister.”</p>
<p>The benefit would be available to almost 1.30 lakh state workers with grade pay up to Rs 4800. An ad hoc bonus of Rs 7,000 would be deposited to the accounts of qualifying workers. After the consent of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Additional Secretary – Finance Secretary Ganga Prasad issued this order on Friday evening. Non-gazetted category state workers, work-charged staff of government departments, aided educational and technical educational institutions, employees of local bodies and district panchayats shall enjoy the benefit of the bonus. Benefits will also be provided to workers who are paid on a daily or casual basis.</p>
<p>Shivkumar Saini expressed his satisfaction with the state government’s decision in an interview with English Jagran, one of the staff members who works as a headmaster in the education department. As he thanked the chief minister, he said, “This is a big decision, [the] government understands the sentiment of the people and we thank CM Dhami for this Diwali gift.”</p>
<p>Who will get the bonus for Diwali?<br />
Bonus will be granted to workers up to grade pay of Rs 4800. Only those workers would be eligible who were in service on 31st March 2023 and have delivered at least six months of continuous and acceptable service until 31st March 2023. Based on a service duration of thirty days, they will obtain a maximum incentive of up to seven thousand rupees. Daily wage workers who have worked for at least 250 days a year for three years or more. Employees working for at least 206 days a year in departments with a five-day week will also be eligible. These workers will get bonuses of up to Rs 1184.</p>
<p>Which one won’t?<br />
The following won’t qualify: Employees against whom departmental disciplinary action is going on, or a criminal prosecution is ongoing in the court, will not obtain the benefit of a bonus. Their bonus won’t be taken into account until after they’ve been cleared. Along with this, workers who have been disciplined in any departmental disciplinary procedure or criminal prosecution will also not obtain a bonus. Ad-hoc bonuses will not be available to workers who have been suspended for any time in the financial year. The incentive will only be available to him upon his reinstatement.</p>
